Brief: TiCycles needed a new logotype and downtube sticker for their production bicycle frames. Customers had been requesting frames without decals and stripping decals off of frames they had purchased because they didn't like the existing decal. TiCycles depends on the downtube sticker for brand recognition, so this was a particularly strong blow.

Solution: After a brief strategy meeting to determine desired characteristics, Train of Thought conducted an extensive search of typefaces. Ultimately, we decided that a custom typeface solution would best serve the need. The resulting letterforms are simultaneously cool, bold, fast, sharp and inviting. We completed the initial sketch, and TiCycles loved it. The unique characteristics of this typeface on each bike frame make the TiCycles name boldly visible and memorable up close or at a distance. We provided several color sketches, and TiCycles now has old and new customers clammering for the new downtube stickers, a true testament to the power of the design.

Train of Thought originally set out to design only the necessary letters, but this logotype proved to be so popular that we will soon be offering a whole family of fonts based on the design at our Realitype.com™ store.
